PanelSafe and Seismount: safety retention for panels
The PanelSafe and Seismount range is Fastmount's answer to the risk of panel detachment under extreme conditions. Manufactured in New Zealand, these devices act as secondary safety catches that prevent a panel from detaching completely if the primary clips fail, whether due to severe vibration, impact, or seismic movement.
PanelSafe (PS-150, PS-150E, PS-S150E) is a 150 mm retainer installed alongside clips from any Fastmount range, limiting maximum panel separation to a few centimetres and preventing free fall. Seismount (PS-SR225S in galvanised steel, PS-SR225SS in stainless) is designed for seismic zones and meets retention requirements for vessels subject to violent movement. Distributed in Spain and Portugal by Riviera Trade.

Application guide
Use PanelSafe in any installation where a falling panel poses a safety risk: ceiling panels on vessels, cladding above walkways, and ceilings in seismically active buildings. Seismount is specific to vessels and structures subject to violent motion requiring certified retention.
These products complement (not replace) primary fixing clips. They combine with any range: Standard, Stratlock, Very Low Profile, etc.
Frequently asked questions
No. PanelSafe is a secondary retention device. Clips (Standard, Low Profile, VLP, etc.) remain the primary fixing. PanelSafe acts as an emergency catch: if clips fail, the retention tether prevents the panel from falling to the floor.
Seismount (steel) is designed for higher retention loads and violent motion: vessels in heavy seas, buildings in seismic zones. PanelSafe (plastic) is suitable for lighter panels in interiors with lower risk but where an extra safety layer is desired.
Typically one per panel is sufficient for panels up to 1 m2. For larger panels, two units (one at each end) provide greater security. Seismount is calculated based on panel weight and expected acceleration.
